Description:

Perkins Eastman is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join our Communications team to assist with our web development team. The intern will work up to 20 hours per week, gaining experience in maintaining and improving a dynamic new website. Tasks will be performed under the guidance of a senior web designer.

Job Responsibilities:

Projects may include, but will not be limited to:

• Write custom HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and Python for existing websites and applications.
• Design, recommend, and pitch improvements to new and existing features.
• Assist in troubleshooting issues on web-based systems.
• Update and edit website content, posts, and pages.
• Provide technical support related to web-based systems to internal teams.
• Test and give feedback on new and existing technologies.
• Create prototypes and experiment with new technologies and features as assigned.
• Assist in writing well-designed, testable, efficient code using best software development practices.
• Assist in gathering and refining specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
• Assist in creating and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Informational Technology or Management Informational System or related field
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in using Windows, Microsoft Office suite products, and the Adobe Suite for graphic/web design applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Knowledge of WordPress theme development.
• Knowledge of the following programming languages: PHP, ASP.NET, JavaScript, or C# is a plus.
• Proficiency in HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and Python
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
• A solid understanding of how web applications work, including security, session management, and best development practices.
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to commit to at least 15 hours per week
• Flexible schedule to accommodate project needs

Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, location and education and typical salary ranges from $23.00 per hour to $25.00 per hour.

This is a permanent part-time hourly position and not benefits eligible.
