Job Description

Purpose

The budtender position, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and product recommendations to our diverse clientele. You will leverage your deep understanding of cannabis products and their effects to guide customers toward informed choices that meet their individual needs and preferences.

Core Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome customers: Create a warm and inviting atmosphere, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional work environment: Collaborate effectively with colleagues, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and represent the company in a positive light.
  • Provide expert product recommendations: Share your in-depth knowledge of various cannabis strains, consumption methods, and potential effects to match customers' specific requirements.
  • Educate customers: Offer clear and accurate information about cannabis products, including their uses, potential risks, and legal regulations.
  • Actively listen to customer needs and preferences: Ask insightful questions to understand their desired experience and level of cannabis knowledge.

Operational Efficiency and Quality Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory: Monitor stock levels, restock shelves, and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Uphold all legal and regulatory requirements: Stay informed about and comply with all applicable cannabis laws and regulations.
  • Process customer transactions: Efficiently complete sales transactions while adhering to all legal and company policies.

Administrative Tasks

  • Reconcile and verify accuracy of cash drawer beginning and end of shift.
  • Account for and report any discrepancies.

Qualifications

  • 21+ years of age and able to pass state requirements for working in a cannabis operation.
  • Prior retail customer service experience a plus.

Supervisory

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Position operates in a professional retail store environment. Position routinely has to use standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly expected to talk and listen. Position requires standing, walking, use of hands, reaching and the ability to lift a maximum of 40 pounds. Ability to climb ladders to reach products on higher shelves.

Position Type and Hours of Work

This position can be either full or part-time depending on the specific needs of the store. Position hours are variable and based upon the hours of the store operation and business conditions. Weekend work is part of the position.

Travel

This position does not require travel.
