Job Description

About Medical Guardian:

Medical Guardian is a trusted leader in personal safety and independence for aging adults. Serving over 615,000 members, we provide innovative technology and compassionate support to help individuals live confidently and securely.

With 12 consecutive years on the Inc. 5000 list and recognition as a Best Place to Work, Medical Guardian combines a mission-driven approach with proven results. We are driven by empowering independence while delivering exceptional service and support.

Our commitment to innovation and inclusivity ensures that we meet the needs of our members and their caregivers every step of the way.

Your Role:

As an SEO Growth Strategist, you will:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive on-site and off-site SEO strategies to drive organic traffic, improve rankings, and generate qualified leads.
  • Conduct ongoing competitor and market research to identify gaps, benchmark performance, and uncover growth opportunities.
  • Define and implement a future-proof SEO strategy aligned with emerging AI search interfaces, zero-click environments, and modular content structures.
  • Perform regular SEO audits to ensure optimal site health, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, and technical performance.
  • Lead the SEO transition from PHP to WordPress, including URL preservation, redirect mapping, schema markup, and page speed optimization.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers to embed SEO best practices into architecture, templates, navigation, and UX systems.
  • Optimize website structure, metadata, internal linking, and content hierarchy for improved visibility and search engine accessibility.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance local search presence, including Google Business Profiles, local citations, and location-specific keywords.
  • Build a content architecture optimized for both traditional and AI search—chunked content, semantic tagging, and structured data for generative model retrieval.
  • Monitor and report on SEO KPIs, including both traditional (traffic, rankings, CTR) and AI-native metrics (chunk retrieval, embedding relevance, citation frequency).
  • Identify and close content gaps across all funnel stages with keyword-rich, intent-aligned assets—transactional, informational, and navigational.
  • Optimize long-form, video, and modular content for featured snippets, YouTube SEO, FAQ schema, and AI-indexing compatibility.
  • Create and manage a white-hat backlink strategy focused on relevance, topical authority, and domain trustworthiness.
  • Secure placements through guest posting, third-party content syndication, and citation inclusion while monitoring toxic backlinks.
  • Implement and analyze A/B tests for on-page SEO elements to continuously refine strategy based on performance.
  • Educate internal teams and stakeholders on SEO and AI-search principles to build a culture of awareness and collaboration.
  • Track and report performance via GA4, GSC, SEMrush, and other platforms, aligning SEO data with business outcomes and user behavior.
  • Implement governance processes for content updates, internal linking, accessibility (WCAG), and technical hygiene.
  • Stay current on SEO trends, algorithm updates, and AI-search innovations to keep strategies competitive and forward-looking.
  • Work cross-functionally with UX and design teams to ensure SEO contributes to site usability, conversion performance, and editorial flexibility.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • At least 5 years of SEO experience, including on-site and off-site SEO, technical SEO, and content management.
  • Proven expertise in using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for tracking and reporting SEO performance.
  • Proficiency in WordPress; experience with Shopify is a strong plus.
  • Previous experience in the healthcare industry is a bonus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • A solution-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous learning and professional growth.

What's In It For You:

  • A pivotal role in a fast-growing company with a meaningful mission.
  • Flexibility to work remotely (Hybrid role if in Philadelphia, PA).
  • A collaborative team environment where your ideas and contributions are recognized.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning, professional growth, and career advancement.

Medical Guardian has an award-winning culture, recognized as a “Top Workplace” by the Philadelphia Media Network, “Best Places to Work” by the Philadelphia Business Journal, and ranked among the Inc. 5000 for ten consecutive years.
