Bricks And Minifigs Metro East in Glen Carbon, IL is looking for a Party Host and Retail Associate to join our team. We are a buy, sell, trade store that encourages customers to reuse, rebuild and reimagine.

Party Host responsibilities:

· Assist with event setup, including arranging tables and chairs, decorations, and equipment

· Greet and direct guests upon arrival

· Provide excellent customer service and address guest inquiries or concerns

· Explain rules to party guests

· Monitor event activities to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees

· Assist with crowd control and maintain order during events

· Adhere to the party schedule

· Clean up activities, set up throne, and set up presents while guests serve and eat food

· Clean up after events, including removing trash and cleaning up spills

Retail Associate portion of the responsibilities:

· Welcoming and engaging with customers as they enter the store

· Assessing customers’ needs and suggesting solutions to their problems

· Working with cash registers and processing payments

· Giving customers advice about sales and promotions

· Recommending the best products to customers

· Cleaning and restocking the store throughout the day, before opening and after closing

· Cleaning, sorting, pricing, and certifying product

· Assisting in social media creation

· Willingness to learn and grow within the buy-sell-trade business

 Qualifications

· Strong communication skills, including public speaking and the ability to engage with diverse audiences

· Previous experience in theater, hospitality, or customer service is preferred

· Comfortable working with children and providing a positive experience for young attendees

· Ability to maintain patience with difficult behaviors and customers

· The ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances is essential.

· Comprehensive understanding of the store products

· Advanced customer service skills

· Basic math skills

· The ability to use a cash register

· Strong level of professionalism at work

· Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

· Proven work experience working as a Retail Associate or a similar role

· Flexibility to work various shifts including specified holidays
