Job Description

Industrial Panel Technicians in Suwanee The Industrial Technician is responsible for reading schematics to assemble wiring, switches, cables and other mechanical pieces in order to construct panel units for electrical equipment. This person will use tools such as soldering irons to piece together the wires or cables. Pay: $25/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build and wire electrical control panels.
• Completes point-to-point wiring, and installs a variety of electronic and electro mechanical components.
• Works from schematics, bills of material, hand-written notes and written verbal instructions.
• May have to determine the method and sequence of assembly operations.
• Utilizes small hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers and soldering irons.
• Reads drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Uses good judgment when dimensions or tolerances seem inconsistent or unworkable.
• Communicate directly with Quality Engineers and Supervisors.
• Communicate with customers regarding various projects.
• Use safety equipment, and protective devices and equipment.
• Basic computer skills required.

SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS:

• Must possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and engage in effective decision-making
• Must possess strong ability to read wiring schematics
• Must possess strong knowledge of electrical wiring diagrams, symbols, engineering drawings and layout drawings for electrical systems
• Must possess strong knowledge of basic workshop practices, engineering materials, conduit and wiring
• Must possess knowledge of engineering calculations associated with current carrying capacity of cables, wires, fuses, and other circuit protective devices

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2- or 4-year degree preferred.
• Either 0-1 year of experience as a degreed electrical engineer or 3-5 years electromechanical assembly experience.
