Danfoss is a global leader of solutions that save energy, reduce costs, and reduce carbon emissions.  Our work in four growth areas – infrastructure, food, energy, climate – enables you to make a difference to people and businesses worldwide. The Safety, Environment and Health Manager is responsible for leadership, coordination, implementation, and support of the Safety, Environmental and Health activities in two facilities. This individual takes a proactive approach while interacting with various teams (Incident Investigation, EHS Leadership team, etc.) They will lead OSHA and environmental compliance, identify issues, recommend and implement solutions, gather results, and interact comfortably with operations/support functions and all levels of leadership and management.  This is an onsite position at our Turbocor Global Headquarters in Tallahassee, FL.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
•    Plans, implements, and oversees approved safety and environmental policies and procedures that support compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations. (i.e. OSHA, USEPA, State EPA, Municipal). Maintains accurate records as required for these agencies.
•    Review, modify, implement, and oversee approved Safety and Environmental policies and procedures that support compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations and Danfoss system. (i.e. EPA, OSHA, State EPA, Municipal). Maintain accurate records as required for these agencies.
•    Champions safety awareness in the respective facility trough education, training, program development, documentation and job specific support. Develops a plan and process for providing required and desired training. Completes training in a timely manner and validates effectiveness.

•    Lead with the Safety committee to establish strategies, create awareness, and implement safety programs in the respective facility. For example, but not limited to forklifts, personal protective equipment, fire protection, SDS, hearing conservation, hazardous materials, material handling and storage, electrical safety-related work practices, blood borne pathogens, confined space, lockout tag out, and emergency action plan.

•    Support Human Resources in workman compensation and maintenance of OSHA injury/illness logs and other monthly reporting requirements including Safety metrics.
•    Conducts audits to detect existing or potential environmental, fire, safety, and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented. Develop and implement long term solutions that will eliminate subsequent problems. 

•    Capable of working flexible shifts as needed, and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and material.

Background & Skills

Background & Skills
•    Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, Safety Science or related technical discipline.
•    Certified Safety Professional (CSP) required and Lead Auditor ISO 14001:2015 certification is preferred and experience with ISO 45001. 
•    5+ years of Environmental, Health and Safety Leadership experience or 10+ years total of EH&S experience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
•    Ability to work effectively in a high quality, deadline driven environment
•    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a team
•    Global mindset and excellent communication skills to efficiently communicate across all levels in the organization.
•    Good time management and project management skills to organize and plan effectively in developing effective systems and processes.
